Title: SMART PAWGUARD – Animal Waste Prevention and Detection System

Abstract

Smart PawGuard is an innovative animal waste detection and alert system designed to help maintain cleanliness in residential areas. Street animals often defecate in homes and gardens, causing unpleasant surroundings, discomfort and potential health risks. Monitoring these areas continuously can be difficult for homeowners.

This project aims to develop a simple, affordable and user-friendly system that detects animal movement and activates an alert when animal waste-related activity is detected. The prototype consists of a motion-detection sensor, an LED light and a sound alarm. When movement is detected, the system triggers the light and buzzer to notify the homeowner, allowing timely action to be taken. The system operates manually and does not use a camera, helping to protect privacy and simplify its design.

Smart PawGuard promotes awareness of cleanliness, hygiene and responsible environmental care. It supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by encouraging cleaner and safer residential surroundings. This innovation offers a practical approach to reducing repeated animal waste problems and creating a healthier living environment for the community.
