Dashing D is an innovative drone-based learning approach designed to strengthen early numeracy skills among students with special educational needs. Guided by Universal Design for Learning, the innovation provides multisensory, hands-on activities involving directions, colours, shapes, and number symbols. Four students participated in activities requiring them to fly a drone according to visual instructions presented by the teacher. Pre- and post-observation results showed improvement among all participants, alongside better focus, social interaction, fine motor coordination, and learning engagement. Dashing D demonstrates the potential of assistive drone technology to create accessible, enjoyable, student-centred learning experiences in inclusive special education settings effectively.
