HIVE GUARDIAN is an innovative study-assistance device designed to help students reduce mobile phone distractions and develop better study habits. Nowadays, many students struggle to maintain concentration and manage their study time effectively due to the frequent use of mobile phones. Therefore, HIVE GUARDIAN was developed to provide a more structured and engaging study experience.
The device consists of a phone compartment equipped with a detection sensor, a timer system, an automatic locking mechanism, and a candy dispenser. Users begin by inserting the battery, placing their phones inside the designated compartment, setting their preferred study duration, and pressing the start button. When the countdown ends, the phone compartment automatically unlocks, allowing users to retrieve their phones. Additionally, the candy dispenser uses a sensor to detect the user's hand and releases a sweet reward.
The candy dispenser is inspired by the psychological principle of positive reinforcement, in which rewards can encourage the repetition of desired behaviours. Through this feature, HIVE GUARDIAN aims to motivate students to complete their study sessions consistently. Overall, this innovation combines technology, time management, and reward-based motivation to encourage greater focus, self-discipline, and more effective study routines. HIVE GUARDIAN aspires to make studying a more enjoyable and productive experience for students.
