Eco-Shadow Theatre is an innovative, eco-friendly educational tool designed to transform recycled materials into an interactive shadow puppet theatre. This innovation addresses two important issues: excessive screen time among children and the increasing amount of recyclable waste. The project aims to promote creativity, environmental awareness, scientific understanding and communication skills through hands-on, screen-free learning. The Eco-Shadow Theatre is constructed using recycled cardboard boxes, paper, reusable sticks and simple lighting materials. By placing handmade characters between a light source and a screen, pupils can create moving shadows and perform creative storytelling activities. Through this process, pupils explore scientific concepts such as light, shadow formation, movement and the relationship between distance and shadow size. This innovation integrates Science, language learning, storytelling and environmental education into an enjoyable learning experience. It encourages pupils to develop imagination, critical thinking, collaboration, confidence and problem-solving skills. The portable, low-cost design also makes it accessible to schools with limited educational resources.Eco-Shadow Theatre supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production by promoting inclusive, experiential learning and the creative reuse of waste materials. In conclusion, Eco-Shadow Theatre demonstrates how simple recycled materials can be transformed into a meaningful educational innovation that combines scientific exploration, creativity and sustainability.
