Flooding can develop quickly, leaving residents with limited time to respond. HydroPod is a solar-powered smart flood-monitoring system designed to provide local and timely flood information. The system uses an ultrasonic sensor to measure water levels and checks multiple readings before confirming a warning, helping reduce false alarms. When the water reaches warning or flood levels, HydroPod activates a siren and sends alerts through Telegram and a mobile app. The alerts can include the water level, temperature, GPS location, and a live photo from the monitoring station. The system is designed for deployment near homes, roads, drains, and other flood-prone areas. HydroPod supports safer and more resilient communities by helping residents identify affected areas, avoid danger, and make better decisions about evacuation. This project supports Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
