The Smart Waste Segregation System is an innovation developed to support SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. It addresses the lack of recycling bins in large supermarkets and the challenges of mixed waste disposal. The system uses an ESP32 Xiao camera and Artificial Intelligence (AI), trained using SenseCraft, to identify waste categories. It sends HIGH signals to a RekaEdukit (Arduino), which controls servo motors to direct waste into the correct compartments. An ESP32 controls the conveyor using two infrared sensors. This innovation reduces manual labour, prevents contamination, saves water, and improves recycling efficiency in supermarkets.
