This study focuses on the design, development, and evaluation of an
Automatic Air Cooler aimed at addressing the inefficiency of standard
electric fans during warm weather. The primary objective of this project is
to construct an automated cooling device that delivers superior personal
thermal comfort compared to conventional household fans. By
leveraging continuous air circulation combined with a moisture-based
cooling system, the device effectively lowers ambient temperatures.
During the development phase, key operational challenges were
identified, including excessive noise output, portability limitations caused
by a constant DC adapter power dependency, and the essential need for
regular maintenance.
The product was developed by integrating electrical and mechanical
technology systems. Plastic was selected as the primary structural
material for its lightweight and durable properties. The cooling
mechanism utilizes a honeycomb pad system, requiring periodic
maintenance to maintain optimal operational efficiency and air
circulation.
The Automatic Air Cooler successfully provides effective personal
cooling superior to standard fans. However, testing revealed operational
constraints, including noticeable noise levels from the fan during
operation, continuous dependency on a DC adapter power supply, and
reduced cooling performance over time if the honeycomb pad is not
regularly cleaned.
In conclusion, the Automatic Air Cooler effectively achieves its core
cooling objectives using plastic, electrical, and mechanical components.
To improve future iterations, it is recommended to integrate a
rechargeable battery for enhanced portability, implement quieter fan
technology, and upgrade to low-maintenance or self-cleaning cooling
pads.
