The Eco-Solar Oven is an innovative, eco-friendly solution that demonstrates the practical use of renewable energy for cooking. This project aims to raise awareness of solar energy as a sustainable alternative to conventional energy sources such as natural gas and electricity. The solar oven is constructed using simple, affordable, and recycled materials, including a shoe box, aluminium foil, black sugar paper, polystyrene, and a transparent plastic sheet. The oven works by reflecting sunlight into the box using aluminium foil, absorbing heat through the black paper lining and trapping heat inside with the transparent plastic cover. This creates a greenhouse effect that increases the temperature inside the oven, allowing food to be heated or cooked using sunlight. A simple experiment comparing black and white paper with ice cubes demonstrates how dark surfaces absorb more heat than light surfaces. The main advantages of the Eco-Solar Oven are its low cost, portability, environmentally friendly operation, and reduced dependence on fossil fuels. It requires no gas, electricity, or open flame during operation. In conclusion, this innovation encourages students to apply scientific knowledge creatively while promoting energy conservation, recycling, and environmental responsibility. The Eco-Solar Oven demonstrates how a simple invention can contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
