Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a common musculoskeletal condition that affects mobility, daily activities and quality of life. However, many individuals have limited knowledge and understanding of the condition and its management, highlighting the need for accessible and practical educational resources. This innovation aims to develop “My Journey to Improve Knee OA Symptoms”, a six-month self-management booklet designed to enhance awareness, understanding and confidence in managing knee health. The booklet focuses on three key components: understanding knee OA, adopting appropriate self-management strategies and monitoring personal progress throughout the six-month period. It is available in both Malay and English to improve accessibility and encourage wider use among individuals with different language preferences. The booklet provides structured information, practical recommendations and self-monitoring activities to help individuals understand their condition and incorporate suitable self-management practices into their daily routines. It also encourages individuals to take an active role in managing their symptoms, maintaining physical function and developing consistent self-care habits. In conclusion, this bilingual, patient-centred educational booklet offers practical guidance for knee OA self-management and has the potential to support patient education, encourage active participation and promote better knee health in healthcare and community settings.
