School safety is an important concern, yet teachers and security personnel cannot monitor every student and area at all times. To address this challenge, Team AEGIS developed Robotics Guardian Campus, an intelligent robotic system designed to create a safer, smarter and more responsive school environment. AEGIS integrates Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Robotics and IoT into one intelligent system. Its first function is Smart Attendance, where AI face recognition identifies students and automatically notifies parents when they arrive safely at school. Second, Smart Toilet Break Monitoring records students’ toilet break duration and alerts teachers when the set time limit is exceeded, enabling faster response when assistance may be needed. Third, Autonomous Patrol allows AEGIS to navigate the school environment, detect potential intruders through its vision system and send alerts to the school control centre. AEGIS can also be remotely controlled when human intervention is required. Through these functions, AEGIS aims to improve student safety, support teachers, strengthen communication with parents and enhance school security. Future development will include smoke and fire detection, automatic charging and a cloud-based monitoring dashboard, moving towards a more complete smart school platform.
