Access to reliable instrument decontamination remains a challenge in mobile clinics and healthcare programmes operating in resource-limited areas. Conventional autoclaves are effective but often bulky, heavy and dependent on fixed infrastructure. This project introduces a Mobile Sterilization System, a portable boiling-water-based thermal decontamination unit designed to support the handling of heat-resistant medical instruments where conventional facilities are not immediately accessible.
The system integrates an ESP32 microcontroller, relay-controlled heating coil and DS18B20 temperature sensor to regulate and monitor the heating process. Wi-Fi connectivity through the Blynk application enables users to activate the system and observe the water temperature remotely. A four-wheel mobile platform further improves transportation and operational flexibility.
Prototype evaluation covered heating performance, temperature stability, remote monitoring and mechanical mobility. The system completed the heating process consistently, maintained stable temperature readings and responded effectively to commands transmitted through the Blynk application. The wheeled structure also demonstrated smooth and practical movement.
The developed prototype offers a compact, affordable and digitally monitored solution for supplementary thermal decontamination in mobile clinics, outreach programmes and rural healthcare settings. This innovation demonstrates how accessible IoT technology can be applied to improve mobility, process monitoring and operational efficiency in healthcare support services.
