Performing prayers outdoors can be difficult for Muslims who travel, hike or camp. In remote areas, worshippers may be unable to determine the qiblat direction, may have to pray in complete darkness, and may struggle to keep a correct posture on uneven ground. Pro Sajadah is a smart assistive prayer mat that addresses these needs in one portable device. Its lighting system applies the conversion of electrical energy into light energy: a light-dependent resistor (LDR) detects low light, and the integrated circuit automatically switches on non-glare LED guide strips. A digital compass shows the qiblat direction automatically, a biometric fingerprint scanner loads each user's personal profile, pressure sensors track posture transitions during prayer, and an ambient temperature sensor supports comfort. For long trips, an energy-saving mode puts the sensors and LEDs to sleep when the mat is idle, extending battery life. The multi-zone pressure array gives feedback on body positioning without acting as a medical diagnostic tool, while fall-detection alerts sent via Bluetooth to a paired smartphone add safety for users praying alone. Unlike conventional prayer mats, which offer no guidance, Pro Sajadah combines lighting, direction finding, posture feedback and safety alerts in a single user-centred design. It helps users perform their prayers with confidence and focus in isolated or low-light settings such as campsites, hiking trails and travel destinations, including during Umrah. Future development will add health-monitoring features for elderly users and flexible solar panels for off-grid charging.
