Student safety during the child pick-up process is an important aspect that requires attention from schools and parents, particularly to ensure that only authorized individuals are allowed to collect students. Manual verification methods, such as visual identification and verbal confirmation, may lead to human errors and are less effective in recording and monitoring pick-up activities. In addition, the absence of real-time notification systems may prevent parents from receiving immediate confirmation regarding the student's pick-up status. Therefore, a Biometric And RFID-Based Authorized Child Pick-Up System With Real-Time Telegram Alert for School Safety Enhancement was developed to improve the safety and efficiency of the child pick-up process in preschool and kindergarten environments. The system uses RFID and fingerprint authentication as identity verification methods to ensure that only registered parents or guardians are permitted to collect the student. An ESP32 microcontroller is used to process the authentication information and control the LCD, LED, and buzzer indicators. Additionally, pick-up information is transmitted to the teacher's monitoring unit through ESP-NOW communication for real-time monitoring and record management. In addition, Telegram integration enables real-time pick-up status notifications to be sent to registered school mobile phone for monitoring and verification purposes. The system is designed to allow only registered authorized users and record information such as identity, time, and authentication status for monitoring purposes. Testing results show that the system can successfully identify registered users and deny access to unauthorized users. Overall, the developed system can improve the safety, monitoring, and efficiency of the child pick-up process through electronic authentication and real-time communication technologies.
