CalcioShield is an innovative environmental project that explores the transformation of discarded eggshells into an alternative material for eco-friendly paint production. The project addresses the increasing amount of household food waste and encourages the development of useful products from commonly discarded materials.The main objective of CalcioShield is to investigate the potential of eggshell powder as an ingredient in paint formulations. Eggshells, which contain a high proportion of calcium carbonate, are collected, cleaned, dried and processed into fine powder for use in experimental paint mixtures.Through this innovation, pupils explore material properties, recycling, sustainable product development and basic scientific experimentation. The project encourages creativity, critical thinking and an understanding of how waste materials can be transformed into valuable resources.CalcioShield supports SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting waste reuse and experiential science learning.In conclusion, CalcioShield demonstrates the potential of eggshell waste as a resource for developing alternative paint materials while encouraging environmental responsibility among young innovators.
