This innovation project introduces the "Eco-Pack & Rack," a dual-function upcycled product was designed to serve primarily as shock-absorbing packaging material for transporting fragile glass test tubes, which then transforms seamlessly into a stable test tube rack for laboratory use. The prototype is fabricated by using a high-density composite of wastepaper pulp, expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam waste, and adhesive, supported by an optimized, reusable craft-stick structural frame. The project addresses two major concerns: the excessive generation of single-use packaging waste during the logistics of fragile school laboratory equipment, and the financial burden of purchasing separate commercial laboratory accessories. By incorporating a modular "Zero-Waste Packaging" design, the enclosed transit block can be separated or reconfigured upon arrival to function as a durable, multi-cavity test tube holder. This innovation heavily supports Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by creating an infinite-value lifecycle for domestic and school waste.
