Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs) cause disability, sickness absence and productivity losses. Developed and internally validated using NODiP 2025 data, the M-WRMSD Score integrates symptom screening, predictors, ergonomic risk assessment and risk stratification for Malaysia’s industrial workers. This tool supports occupational health practitioners, safety officers and employers in identifying workers requiring assessment, prioritising modifiable risk factors and targeting workplace interventions. Commercialisation opportunities include web calculators, mobile applications, organisational subscriptions and software licensing, with potential AI integration. By enabling earlier identification and targeted interventions, it could reduce healthcare costs, preserve workers’ functional capacity and livelihoods, improve resource allocation and promote healthier workplaces.
