The Series and Parallel Circuit Kit is a teaching aid specifically developed to facilitate students’ understanding of the Fundamentals of Electrical Technology. The kit is designed with basic components such as switches, lamps, wiring, and a 230V single-phase power supply equipped with safety protection. The fundamental concepts demonstrated through this kit include how electric current flows in series and parallel circuits, the differences in voltage and current distribution, and the effects of changes in resistance on circuit functionality.

In a series circuit, electric current flows through only one path, and the total resistance is the sum of the resistance of each component. If one component becomes disconnected, the entire circuit will stop functioning. In contrast, in a parallel circuit, electric current flows through more than one path, the voltage across each branch is the same, and the total resistance decreases as more branches are added. Through this kit, students gain hands-on experience in observing the differences between these two types of circuits, including measuring current, voltage, and resistance using measuring instruments such as a multimeter.

The use of this kit in the classroom not only enhances students’ theoretical understanding but also provides opportunities for experiential, hands-on learning. In addition, the kit helps teachers explain the differences between series and parallel circuits more clearly through direct demonstrations. Overall, the Series and Parallel Circuit Kit serves as an effective educational innovation that can increase students’ interest in and understanding of the fundamentals of electrical wiring.
