Rural primary pupils frequently face learning gaps because immediate academic support, reliable internet, multilingual resources and digital learning materials are limited. EduLens AI is a rural-first, child-safe learning companion that transforms worksheet questions into personalised, age-appropriate guidance beyond classroom instruction. Rather than simply give answers, it scaffolds learning through five stages: Scan, Understand, Learn, Grow and Revise. Its lightweight, low-bandwidth design integrates image-based question scanning, simple explanations, multilingual support and gamified activities to maintain motivation and retention. A four-week innovation pilot involving 39 pupils at SK Kampung Bulau, Bekenu, Sarawak used pre- and post-pilot evaluation rubrics and structured observations to track understanding, engagement and confidence. By the end, 90% of pupils demonstrated overall academic improvement, with 100% conceptual understanding, 88% sustained engagement and 100% learning confidence. These results position EduLens AI as a practical, scalable and equitable response to rural learning-support gaps. Its child-safe, low-resource framework offers a replicable model for schools in bandwidth-constrained, resource-limited environments.
