Citrus peels are a common form of food waste that contain natural compounds with potential cleaning properties. This study investigates the effectiveness of citrus-peel extract as an alternative cleaning agent for removing grease and examines how the concentration of the extract affects its cleaning performance. Citrus peels were collected, prepared, and extracted using water to produce a liquid citrus-peel extract. Different concentrations of the extract were tested on grease under controlled conditions, and the amount of grease removed was measured quantitatively through repeated trials. The cleaning effectiveness of the citrus-peel formulations was then compared with that of a commercial cleaning agent. The study aims to determine the most effective concentration of citrus-peel extract for grease removal and evaluate its potential as an affordable and more sustainable alternative cleaning solution. This research may contribute to the utilisation of food waste and the development of environmentally friendly household cleaning products.
