TiltSafe is a predictive orientation-risk intelligence solution developed to improve robotic machining quality for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The innovation identifies safe and high-risk machining orientations before physical cutting begins, enabling proactive decision-making and reducing manufacturing uncertainty. Developed and validated on a KUKA KR120 robotic platform, TiltSafe establishes a verified machining window capable of maintaining surface roughness below 2 µm while detecting orientation conditions that may cause dimensional errors and quality deterioration. By reducing rejected parts, minimizing material waste, and supporting quality assurance, TiltSafe offers a practical software-based solution with strong commercialization potential for robotic manufacturing environments.
