Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are tiny cellular messengers released that carry important biological information throughout the body and are recently gaining popularity in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Despite the growing EV research in Malaysia, the absence of standardised protocols, worsened by EV heterogeneity and scattered online methods, leads to inconsistent results and poor reproducibility in EV research. Hence, we have compiled EV-related protocols into a booklet, “EV Navigator: A Curated Roadmap for Beginners”, covering EV isolation methods and characterisation techniques with their principles, pros and cons, and troubleshooting tips. By consolidating scattered protocols and practical guidance into one accessible roadmap, EV Navigator helps beginners and promotes more consistent EV research in Malaysia.
