SMART MATH APP Form 1 was developed to address challenges in Mathematics learning, including low student engagement, difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts, limited access to suitable learning resources, and differences in students’ learning abilities and pace. The innovation aims to provide a more engaging, accessible and flexible Mathematics learning experience for Form 1 students, while supporting independent and collaborative learning. Developed using WordPress and hosted on Hostinger, SMART MATH integrates video and live classes, SMART Notes and formula guides, games and quizzes, practice exercises, mock examinations, basic AI-assisted learning, teacher support and Peer Tutoring within one digital learning ecosystem. The platform also enables teachers and capable students to create and share digital learning materials through an Educational Marketplace, transforming students from content users into peer educators and knowledge creators. A one-month pilot study involving 90 Form 1 students showed positive improvements across all six evaluated areas of Mathematics learning, with the overall mean increasing from 2.36 before implementation to 3.56 after implementation on a four-point Likert scale. Beyond supporting Mathematics learning, SMART MATH encourages communication, collaboration, creativity, confidence and digital skills through peer learning and content creation. Overall, SMART MATH demonstrates the potential of an integrated digital ecosystem to enhance Mathematics learning while developing more active, independent and future-ready learners.
